We believe we have an obligation to improve the quality of life in our community. We support organizations and programs that provide welfare to children and families, fight hunger and promote culinary education. Our primary focus is through our family foundation, the Rodman Ride for kids. One of many events, the Rodman Celebration for Kids, a food and wine event at the World Trade Center in Boston, supports disadvantaged kids throughout our community. Rodman for Kids is an umbrella matching gift charity raising funds for youth-focused social-service organizations that support at-risk children in Massachusetts. It is our desire, wherever possible, to make business decisions that will have a positive effect on the environment. This includes our ongoing commitment to recycling and the use of recycled materials, efficiently use and save energy in our plant and to source product locally in an effort to reduce Cambridge Packing Company’s overall carbon footprint.
As a leader in natural meat distribution and processing, Cambridge Packing Company is striving to source from vertically integrated, “farm to fork” suppliers. In doing so, we look for companies that are employing sustainable practices that are tied to the land. Ideally, growing their own feed and preserving the farmland by utilizing crop rotation and composting of animal waste for fertilizer.
